I don't have an E36 but I've always thought about getting one in some form or another. I like the M3 sedan, the 318ti canvas roof, and of course the shoe. Of course one of those would be for when I had a lot of money.
Even on a smaller budget a 318i would be cool, a nice 4-cylinder RWD luxury sport sedan with good mpg and some prestige too, all of this while buying American (many E36's were made in South Carolina. Initially they started with 318i sedans then proceeded to make all teh Z3's—including the M coupe and roadster, but now they concentrate on X-shit)
Of course reliability and operating costs are still a concern for me at this point (I'm used to Japanese Toyotas).
But someday.

Ah, the good old E36s
The first one : 320i 1993 - i still have it, it is for sale
the second one was in a rush of the moment. I had for one and an half year and i drove 10000kms of pure fun. rarely used 5th gear ;)
M3 3.0 1993
And the third that i bought a year ago and it is going to be my daily
325i 1991 ( one of the firsts ) - only have night photos but it is a regular stock e36 with 55k miles
The only mods on the 325i are sports seats and mtech steering wheel and the LPG kit that i transplanted from the 320i. It helps with the fuel costs.
I also have some videos , but Jalopnik has been a bit strong on speed on public roads so ill put the link http://www.youtube.com/user/rodasroda… if you want to see. But please dont be mad with me. Not all of us are americans and in southern europe we are a bit more careless and our cops are reasonable people ( except in the city )

I really just want to keep the 325i. Im a bit sad that it is the sedan. I really like the coups but i could not find a nice 325i / 328i coup. This old sedan was not running good, the ecu was bad so it was melting the coils but otherwise it was a better then usual e36.
No lsd and not even remotely M.
Im from Portugal, it cost 2800 euro and I spent another 2500 on an all fluid and cooling system overhaul, the chain tensioner, injector cleaning, a lot of coils, 2 or 3 used ebay ecus, the lpg transplant and the seats. Ive only done about 5k miles going to work and it is still running good.
But there is always something.... one of the 4 things that attach my seat to the car broke ! Shitty thing but so, so annoying. Have to wait till the weekend to fix.
Seeing your lovely M3 reminds me a lot of mine. It was beautifull and the S50 is an evil engine but i had to sell mine.
My country is in deep trouble. We all had to downgrade.
Cheers and thanks for letting me share my bmw on oppo of Jalopnik !

Very nice ! The m52b28 is a sweet smooth engine. You will love it!

Im sure that they are great ! Any photo you want to share ?
A stock road going would not be special enough, right? They are not old enough, and there are many of them..
Anyway, your cars are amazing. You provide a great service to mankind !

Sir, I really appreciate you sharing...
I called my M3 Amarela, which I know you know is Portuguese for "yellow". I speak both French (native language) and Spanish so I love romance languages

Dont see many amarelos around here, i think i have never seen one..... all black and grays..
